Equipment Description

The GF-8 Crane is a mobile crane system with a fixed arm that is both rideable and remote. Its versatility and durability provide smooth movement in tight, confined locations, often used for mounting cameras in a stationary ground position or movement on a track. In addition, the ultra-modular design of the GF-8 Crane is popular on set for its uncomplicated and efficient setup.

The crane arm can be set up in 1-foot increments, with an arm reach range of 8’3” to 26’4”. The lens height ranges from 10’10” to 26’2”. Extra height and lift range can be added at any time using the GF-8 Xten Kit. The GF-8 base track wheels measure 4’ by 4’ and create a minimum circular movement of 9’4”.

The crane has a maximum weight of up to 110 pounds for the camera equipment and head. The GF-8 has the capacity for the operator to ride at various lengths and comes with a split bucket for shorter lengths. The GF-8 Crane system is one of the most popular rideable and remote crane systems available in the filmmaking industry today.
