Equipment Description

The DJI Inspire 3 UAS with the Zenmuse X9-8K Air gimbal camera sets a new high standard in unmanned 8K aerial cinematography in a compact form factor without the use of heavy lifter drone equipment. The lightweight body and classic streamlined shape allow for sufficient power redundancy to improve flight maneuverability and flight times up to 28 minutes. And the newly designed transformational body can guarantee an unobscured gimbal camera view when flying at high speed so that the gimbal camera can move freely with a range of +100 to -115 degrees of tilt with landing gear down, and +75 to -140 degrees of tilt with landing gear up, +300 to -300 degrees of pan, and +20 to -20 degrees of roll.

With the 3-axis gimbal stabilization system, the Zenmuse X9-8K Air gimbal camera supports dual native ISO and recording 35mm full frame at up to 8K 75fps ProRes RAW or 8K 25fps CinemaDNG as well as 4K 120fps video. The DL-mount supports DJI DL 18mm, 24mm, 35mm, 50mm prime lenses. The camera system can be controlled through traditional cinematography methods including camera operation using DJI Master Wheels and DJI Three-Channel Follow Focus systems.

New flight recording capabilities provide repeatable flights and shots, as well as a “3D Dolly” feature that allows crews to use the drone like an aerial dolly that can move along the same path while still controlling the camera.

The aircraft also integrates several new safety features including a multi-redundancy light controller system, horizontal omnidirectional vision system, infrared sensing system, and night-vision light system allowing for hovering and flying indoors as well as outdoors and automatic Return to Home while avoiding obstacles in all directions.

UAVs (unmanned aerial vehicles) have increased the availability of aerial cinematography, but they still require experienced pilots and filmmakers to get professional quality images.
